SL & SL STAR COMPRESSED AIR SPEAR-FISHING GUNS

The SL range of ultra-light spear-fishing guns have been newly designed to blend perfectly with the marine environment. The SL is a powerful high speed gun with outstanding aim making it ideal for all types of spear-fishing. The guns have anatomical high grip butts enabling the gun to be held in line with the arm with no extra effort. The guns are fitted with a high visibility red safety catch for optimum safety.
Contrary to common belief, compressed air spear-guns do not need to be 'pumped up' during use. Although a pump is provided, unless the gun is taken on board an aircraft or is to be dismantled for service, there is no reason to de-pressurise or re-pressurise the guns.
They work in much the same way as an air rifle, in that the pressurised air within the guns chamber acts as a highly efficient spring, against which the spear is pushed during cocking. The SL range is available in two forms - the SL star for full power and the SL with reducer for less power, to give less chance of the spear bouncing back when fishing near rocks. The model number of Cressi-sub spear-guns refers to the length of the spear chamber.

Suggested retail prices -

SL55 - £121.80      SL70 - £126.00      SL100 - £132.30
SL STAR 40 - £84.00      SL STAR 55 - £90.30      SL STAR 70 - £96.60

RUBBER POWERED SPEAR-FISHING GUNS

The Comanche spear gun is the ultimate rubber powered gun for the serious spear fisherman. The gun is fitted with four line release devices for extra accuracy and sensitivity, one of which is below the trigger. The guns butt is made from synthetic rubber for comfort and grip and the hydrodynamic muzzle is perfectly aligned with the handle for a more accurate aim. The Comanche has a new streamlined reel (available separately) with a 70m capacity. The gun is fitted with extra reactive bands for optimum power and speed.

A selection of replacement rubbers, shafts and heads are available for the Comanche guns.

Sizes - The model number of Comanche spearguns refers to the length of the gun's barrel. For example, the Comanche 75 has a 75cm barrel, the gun is 100cm long and the spear is 120cm long. The Comanche 75 weighs approx. 915g

Cressi-sub's policy towards spear-fishing in the UK

Cressi-sub realize that Spear-fishing, whilst very popular in many parts of the world, is frowned upon by some in the British Isles. However, before you decide to e-mail us in disgust and throw away your Cressi-sub mask please remember the following. Spear-fishermen, in our experience are fully aware that their hobby can be hazardous to other people and take the safety of others very seriously. Also, from a conservation point of view, when someone goes spear-fishing they generally catch a few selected fish (if they are skilled enough) and them take them home and cook them for tea. When you visit your local fish and chip shop, the haddock you buy will have been caught in a trawl net, how many other un-useable and immature fish were killed at the same time and then thrown back into the sea, not to mention all the dolphins and sea-birds that die each year in trawl nets.
